On February 4th, 2024, we didn't know that we were getting a new album, but when Taylor won Album of The Year for Midnights, that's when we knew something was coming. It wasn't the long-awaited re-record Reputation (Taylor's Version), but it was a brand new album that would break records on its first day.

On April 19th, 2024, the record-breaking The Tortured Poets Department came out. To be honest, I have never ever been so excited for an album release before. From the easter eggs that were planted in multiple murals around the world to easter eggs being found in lyrics throughout Taylor's discography, this album had so much hype leading up to it, and it totally deserved all that hype.

My favorite song from the album titled, 'So High School' is one of my favorite songs ever to this day. Not only because it came out while I was in high school but also because it captures the feelings of teenage romance and how you feel 'so high school' when you're with someone. These are the actual feelings that any high schooler cannot explain, but it was put into a song.

This album brought me the best friends not only because it made me stand out in line on Black Friday at 5 AM with my dad while trying to get the Anthology CD and Vinyl but because it was added to the The Eras Tour setlist which was my roman empire of May 2024. I just cannot explain how it felt to be listening to this album at midnight on a school night with my best friends.

Happy Birthday, TTPD!
